biopuncture-imgWhat is Biopuncture?

Biopuncture is a natural medicine technique consisting of injecting biological products (like homeopathic remedies) into specific areas of the body. Biopuncture originated through the combination of bio-therapeutics and Acupuncture. Most Biopuncture injections are given under the skin or in the muscles.

At MNHC Naturopathic & Medispa Clinic, our practitioners administer Biopuncture injections into carefully selected spots to help balance the body. Typically speaking these points include the neck for whiplash, the chest for bronchitis, the abdomen for gastro-enteritis, the knee for joint pain, and so on. Local injections can also be given to better stimulate local blood circulation which can be an effective treatment for sports injuries.

How is Biopuncture administered?

Biopuncture injections are not comparable with common injections given in conventional medicine. They are not as painful as a norma’ injection because the needles used to administer it are extremely fine and the quantity injected is very small. In fact Biopuncture needles look more like little pinpricks. Most Biopuncture injections are given into or just under the skin with others given into specific muscle points. Injections into and around joints are also common practice.

Part of the concept behind Biopuncture is to work at a deeper level by encouraging your body’s own defense mechanisms to make the necessary repairs without causing and harmful effects.

What conditions are treated by Biopuncture?

Biopuncture treatments are designed to help patients who typically do not support the use of allopathic painkillers. It is important to realize that Biopuncture can not ‘take away’ the pain as with a traditional medication, however, it is a great way to assist with the healing of a variety of medical conditions which generate pain including:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Knee pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Ankle sprains
  • Tennis elbow
  • Joint pain
  • Arthritis
  • Muscle strain and tears
  • Hip pain
  • Rotator cuff injury
Biopuncture is not only used to treat pain problems, but can also be used as a treatment for allergies and inflammations including, asthma, eczema and hay fever as well as patients suffering from arthritis, bronchitis, cystitis and sinusitis. Biopuncture is also becoming a more common Naturopathic treatment for migraines, osteo-arthritis, tension headache, crohn’s disease, colitis, vertigo, meniere’s disease, Cluster headache, neuralgia, and more.
